Trash collection resumes following latest storm

Garbage pickup resumed today after the latest snowstorm dropped up to 19 inches in the New York City area.

Sanitation crews were hard at work hauling away garbage that has been piling up since last Monday.

Residents say they are frustrated that snow caused garbage pickup to stop for the second time this winter. After the blizzard in December, garbage pickup was suspended for nearly two weeks.

The Department of Sanitation is asking residents to dig their garbage out from the snow so it won't be missed by crews.
