Bronx Egyptians feel pain of protestsPosted: Updated:
Bronx residents from Egypt say they are disturbed by the protests in the country.
Weeklong protests in Egypt are calling for the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak. Protesters are defying a curfew to take to the streets citing poverty, unemployment and a widening gap between rich and poor. More than 100 have been killed in the protests.
Many say they are unable to call or connect with family back home. Bronx Egyptians say with unreliable phone lines and limited to no internet connection in the country, watching the news is the only way they can connect with loved ones.
