35-year-old man shot, injured on Furman Road in Wakefield

A man is in serious condition after he was shot in Wakefield early Saturday morning.



The shooting happened just before 5 a.m. on Furman Avenue.



It happened not far from a nightclub called the Karma Lounge, but workers there say the club closes at 4 a.m.



Emergency crews say the 35-year-old victim was taken to Jacobi Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the arm.



Police are searching the suspect, who they say is a 25-year-old male.
