The Whitestone Bridge is now reopened, after being closed due to a vehicle fire.
A pickup truck carrying gas cannisters caught fire just before 9:30 a.m. The bridge was then closed, halting traffic and clogging surrounding roadways, as emergency crews put the fire out.
While it took firefighters around 15 minutes to quell the flames, the shutdown lasted for about an hour.
Traffic is expected to remain heavy on the bridge until the scene is completely cleared.
