Middletown Road, Castle Hill Avenue 6 Line subway stations reopen after months of renovations
Two subway stations along the 6 line are once again open and operational after being closed for several months.
A ribbon-cutting event was held Friday morning to celebrate the multimillion-dollar renovations brought to the Middletown Road and Castle Hill Avenue stations. Several community leaders joined MTA officials to take part.
Commuters and local businesses say the construction on the line has been an inconvenience. Many say the stations were in dire need of renovations and they are happy to see the face lift.
The renovations began in October of last year. They included new floors, ceilings, stairs and lighting.
The reopening of the stations is the first phase of the $109 million renewal project for the Pelham line.
