Missing 96-year-old nursing home patient Jessie Thompson possibly spotted in Manhattan
The search for missing nursing home patient Jessie Thompson has moved to lower Manhattan after a News 12 viewer reported seeing her there.
Thompson, 96, has been missing since Sunday, when she walked out of the Jewish Life Care Center nursing home in Kingsbridge. Police released surveillance video of Thompson boarding an M100 bus in Harlem shortly after she left.
The viewer says she saw an elderly woman who seemed out of place and a little lost in the C Wonder store on Spring Street in lower Manhattan on Monday. When she saw News 12's report Tuesday, she recognized Thompson's description and called police. The viewer says she was told by a detective that somebody else had called in to say they saw Thompson on Chambers Street.
C Wonder's mananger says he doesn't remember seeing Thompson in the store, but has turned over the surveillance footage to the police.
