Chipper Truck getting permanent home
After 10 years of serving up Irish food on the streets of Woodlawn, the Chipper Truck is getting a permanent home.
Owners Valentino and Alice Bermejo opened the truck on Katonah Avenue and 237th Street in the summer of 2004, and since then, it's become a go-to spot in the neighborhood for late-night eats.
The couple says they're now opening up a café just across the border in Yonkers, which will feature the same popular menu of sandwiches, cheeseburgers and Irish breakfasts.
However, fans of the Chipper Truck don't need to worry. It will remain open in its usual spot from midnight until 5 a.m. daily.
