NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton says arrest numbers are coming back after dropping off significantly following the murder of two officers while on duty in Brooklyn.
Bratton spoke about the suspected work slowdown, saying that police have taken extra caution at their posts since Detectives Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were killed.
He said that the number of arrests and summonses dropped by more than 90 percent, but vowed to restore them with more traffic stops, speed traps and DUI checkpoints.
Bratton also assured the public that the safety of the city is not being impacted in a negative way.
