A Bronx church is working to stop hunger in the borough by giving out free bags of food.
Ebenezer Pilgrim Holiness Church has been feeding those in need since it opened up about 12 years ago.
Shelldine, a single mother, was among those who waited in the bitter cold on Saturday to receive food from the church's pantry. She says the church has been a great help to her, as money has been tight.
About 200 people are expected to receive bags of food containing groceries like spaghetti, canned food, juice, milk and other goods. The church doles out the bags every other Saturday and offers a soup kitchen once a month.
Ebenezer also offers services such as assistance with job hunting and giving out health information.
