Police ID grandson accused of killing Bronx woman

Police have released the identity of a man who they say brutally killed his elderly grandmother inside her Bronx home.

According to authorities, 48-year-old Erik Perez, of Brooklyn, was arrested Thursday following a two-hour standoff with police in Throgs Neck.

They say 87-year-old Alice Durso was found dead due to head trauma inside her home on Hollywood Avenue. Two of the victim's relatives and a home health aide were also injured.

Perez is now facing a number of charges, including second-degree murder and felony assault. He's currently undergoing psychiatric evaluation at Jacobi Medical Center.

Police say Perez has a history of psychiatric problems.
