Fireworks exploded over landmarks around the world as 2015 arrived, time zone after time zone.
Sydney, Australia was one of the first major cities to celebrate, lighting up the harbor with its typically impressive shows.
Among the iconic landmarks lit with the glow of fireworks were the Moscow Kremlin, the Arc de Triomphe, the Brandenburg Gate, the London Eye, and in Dubai, the world's tallest building.
And of course, New York's own Times Square was filled with excitement for its famous ball drop.
Other U.S. cities put their own spin on the tradition, with Atlanta dropping a giant peach, Key West using a massive high-heel shoe and Memphis featuring a guitar.
