Bronx vigil held for fallen NYPD officers
Police officers and residents from the Bronx came together in East Tremont to mourn the loss of two fallen NYPD heroes.
Community members flooded the steps of the borough's 45th Precinct Monday night for a candlelight vigil in honor of Detectives Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu, who were shot and killed while on duty in Brooklyn.
Attendees wore blue ribbons, recited poems and sang songs in their memory, calling for the City of New York to be protected.
Elected officials say they hope the community will continue to support the officers who put their lives on the line for others each day.
