A patient at a Bronx psychiatric ward has been charged with the murder of another patient.

Brett Smith, 19, of the Bronx, is charged with second-degree murder for allegedly using an electrical cord to choke to death fellow patient Leon Little, 51, at the Bronx Psychiatric Center.

Police say they received a call about a man being unconscious and unresponsive just before 8 p.m. Friday. Little, who died inside the psychiatric ward, was found with abrasions on his throat after a dispute with Smith, according to authorities.
