Residents celebrate holiday as churches prepare to merge
Several Bronx churches are hosting their final holiday Mass this Christmas, as they prepare to merge in 2015.
According to a proposal by the Archdiocese of New York, several churches will merge together and form a new parish. This will allow the churches to remain open, but many will no longer be used for Mass and Sacraments.
Visitation will be merging with Saint John, and Saint Ann will merge with Saint Brennan. Nativity of the Blessed Lady will merge with Holy Rosary.
The merges are expected to take place August 2015.
