BX dance students win contest, will perform on TV
Students of a Bronx academy have been practicing a dance routine for a televised performance.
The dance class at Success Academy Bronx 2 won the annual "Strut Ya Stuff" competition with an impassioned performance.
For taking home the top spot, the group of 18 fourth- and fifth-graders will perform on the BronxNet TV program "Just Gimme the Mic." Their song of choice is Pharrell's "Happy."
Instructors Cristy Robtoy and Melvin Cross say the attention and family-feel of the team is something positive that will stay with the kids for years to come.
The big performance will be aired on BronxNet Jan. 9.
