2 accused of scamming Riverdale woman

Police are searching for two suspects accused of scamming a 91-year-old woman in Riverdale.

On Dec. 3, police say one of the suspects approached the victim near the Henry Hudson Parkway and West 235th Street. She and a second suspect allegedly told the victim they had just found a bag filled with money, and the woman could keep some of it if she paid up front.

The victim then went to a bank, withdrew $1,000 and handed it to the suspects.

The victim was told she would be contacted the next day to pick up her portion, but she never heard back.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
