Word on the Street: Hip-hop moguls as advocates

Famous members of the hip-hop community including Jay Z, Russell Simmons and Common are pushing for changes within New York's criminal justice system.



Simmons and Jay Z went so far as to discuss their ideas with Gov. Andrew Cuomo.



News 12 The Bronx hit the street to find out if residents think their advocacy will have an impact.



Most agreed that since these artists are already influential figures, their speaking out will have an effect.
