Word on the Street: Not hiring smokers

A county board of supervisors in Arizona is proposing a policy that would refuse the hiring of smokers.

For workers who do smoke, the board is proposing a 30 percent health insurance surcharge.

According to reports, the decision would save the county more than $1 million in health care costs every year. The board is set to vote on the proposal next week.

News 12 The Bronx asked residents what they think about the idea.
