Former Bronx representative passes awayPosted: Updated:
A woman known for championing the Bronx has passed away.
Madeline Provenzano served as one of the borough's City Council members from 1997 until 2005 when she reached the position's term limits.
She was also among the advocates for the new golf course at Ferry Point Park.
Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. offered his condolences to Provenzano's family saying, "Madeline Provenzano was a strong woman, a paragon of public service and a role model for other elected officials, and her spirit and conviction will be sorely missed."
