News 12 Connecticut has an extensive internship program for qualified students. We offer students the chance to explore their interests in the fields of electronic news gathering and production while obtaining hands-on experience.
Internships are available in the following categories:

- Weekend Feature Production Assistant
- Special Projects Production Assistant
- Assignment Desk Editor
- Studio Operations
- Editing
- News Photographer
- Reporter Assistant
- Promotions
- Graphic Artists
- Meteorology
- Interactive (News 12.com)
- Sports
- Administration
Some of the requirements for an internship at News 12 Connecticut are:
- Students must have completed at least one semester in college.
- Students must receive college credit for their field experience at News 12 Connecticut.
- Students should major in Journalism or Broadcast Journalism, Communications, Production,
- Photography, English or other related subjects.
Both the Supervisor and the Intern will complete Evaluation forms at the end of the semester.
Supervisor Evaluation Form: The student will be evaluated based on attendance, motivation, performance, etc. Feedback to the interns is essential to enhance their experience. This form will be kept on file for use in future recommendations or as a reference source.
Intern Evaluation Form: Feedback from the intern will enable News 12 Connecticut to evaluate the internship program and acknowledge any recommendations made by the intern. This form will be kept on file to assess the student’s experience with News 12 Connecticut.

Deadlines for applications are as follows:
Feb. 15 for the following Summer; July 31 for the following fall semester; Oct. 31 for the following Spring Semester. Winter Break internships are available on a limited basis.
