Judge dismisses Blakeman's lawsuit against AG's office connected to transgender athlete ban

10ds agoA judge has dismissed County Executive Bruce Blakeman's lawsuit against the attorney general's office. It's another legal setback for Blakeman's controversial ban on transgender athletes competing in girls and women's sports at county facilities.
In the lawsuit, Blakeman claimed a letter sent to him by Attorney General Letitia James telling him to rescind his executive order violates the U.S. Constitution.
In a statement, Blakeman says, "I am shocked that a federal judge with a background as a Civil Liberties Union lawyer would not give girls and women their day in court. We vehemently disagree with the decision and will appeal."
