Some of the top basketball players on Long Island competed in the annual Alzheimer's All-Star Classic Thursday evening at Brentwood High School.
The event helps to raise awareness for Alzheimer's and dementia.
Former New York Knicks draft pick Gordon Thomas started the event 10 years ago in memory of his father. He says it's also become a great opportunity for the children to show off their skills.
"It's a lot of fun and believe it or not, we will have some college scouts here that are looking for three-point shooters and high rising dunkers, so it's a way to showcase their talents," Thomas says.
All of the money raised will be donated to the Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center in Westbury.
